Happy Halloween!

Appears they weren't exagerating...

Lower Manhattan after the blackout.

Of course, there were some beautiful and sensational photos that turned out incredible, but photoshopped. This one went big viral.

...and this one was floating around out there, but it's from one of the end of the world movies... The Day After Tomorrow.

But this cataclysm is real... such a shame, "Oh the Humanity!"

Things must really be bad if "The" Donald's hair was mussed.

We watched David Letter do his show to an empty house last night, heard Jimmy Fallon did the same.

We heard from old buddy Pete and he's doing fine in Baltimore. Reported 35 knot winds, but not too bad. He sent me a picture he took of the HMS Bounty that sunk off Cape Hatteras.
Don't understand why the Captain allowed her to be caught in a hurricane that close to port. It was reported that he was trying to run around it... guess not. Whatever his reason, it cost him his life as well as a crewman and his ship. Very sad.

Taken off Pete's balcony that overlooks Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

It's a horrible disaster and it seems Sandy did exceed expectations. What a mess and what havoc this will create for some time to come, we haven't seen the worse yet.

Guess there was a wolf this time...

More Fall Color
We really miss cruising the river this time of year.
Our friends Clayton and Deanna, aboard Tivoli,  are in the middle of all this right now. Plying the waters of the Tennessee and gazing at all this beautiful fall scenery. Hope they're having fun; bet they are.

More video of Hurricane Sandy... from Over Yonder Cay

Duncan Hipkin!! You did a great job of holding yourself upright against hurricane force winds long enough to do this video.
Duncan's vantage point was on Over Yonder Cay.
This is also on Pipe Creek, just across from Wild Tamarind.
onSpot wifi was supposed to be there today to repair the communications gear that was recently damaged by lightning; there may be much more to repair after the last couple of days.

Amazing video!

Thanks, Duncan.

Hurricane Sandy's passed the Exumas

Sandy seems to have caused minimal damage.

According to a Nassau Guardian Article, Staniel Cay and Black Point sustained little damage and no injuries.
So, I guess all is well in our Pipe Creek neighborhood. The Internet is up and working at Compass Cay.
That's a good sign.

While searching around I found this video of our beautiful neighborhood to the south.

And... this interesting, though not overly exciting, video of the International Space Station passing over Sandy as she was doing her thing to the Exumas.

Meanwhile in Jupiter, Istaboa is tangled up in a spider's web and hopefully secure, Crew Istaboa is snug as a bug in Memphis.

The weather here is changing as we speak and has gone from a sunny 82 yesterday, to a rainy 49 right now at 8:00 AM and not to get much better today.

Time to start thinking about heading home.

Our friend and sometime crew mate, Peter, sent this one in. A shot he took while in the Baltic Sea area recently.
Looks like living aboard is the same everywhere. Gotta have herb.

R.I.P. B.B. Cunningham

Not many will know him...

But he was ... of those guys that helped make Rock & Roll what it is...

I was lucky enough to enjoy him as a fan and work with him as a player.

The Tennessee River is beautiful especially in the fall.

Last night, Capt. Will and wife Tara, our good friends from Stuart were passing through on their way to a BBQ Competition in Kansas City and spent the night with us. They arrived late and were tired so we provided take out Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken. They loved it. Plans are for them to pass back through and spend a bit more time so we can show them our new hood.
Good luck to Team Smokey Dog in KC.

Soldotna, Alaska
A shot from a fishing trip in Alaska, a long time ago.
My Buddy Frank and I had been Halibut fishing
and the guide took us out here in the boonies to clean the fish.
Have no idea who put this here, but it looked cared for.
Alaska is beautiful in the summer.
