Today's Pic

Old pic of the wall from Hard Rock in Memphis.
It was once a studio and many artists signed this stairwell of fame.
Stylized, of course, Peter Max-ish with an iPhone app.

Today's Pic

I got nothing... Still in Annapolis, but not doin' anything exciting. Nothing interesting to say or take pictures of.

But I did find this story in the Memphis news. It's a tragic story about a kid who was shot and killed just down the street from our apartment in Memphis.

A few days after nurse David Santucci was fatally shot in an apparent robbery in Downtown, his friends Drew Fryman and Justin Hurley decided to perform an act of kindness that reflected their friend’s spirit of generosity: they would go to the Chili’s restaurant on Germantown Parkway where he had worked and leave a big tip.
Article here... David Santucci

Cut from Operation Tucci's website.

One project we've already begun is Operation Tucci. The idea behind this is simple: Be kind. Several of Tucci's friends have gone around the city of Memphis leaving large tips for waiters and waitresses, buying someone's groceries, and other random acts of kindness. Whatever they do, they leave the person a slip of paper with these words:

David Santucci was a nurse who devoted his life to helping others. He was genuine, smart, funny, and a dear friend of ours. This act of kindness was done in his memory.

Please take the time to spread this website!

Today's Pics

The homes...

Nephew Niel and I took the dink into town to check out the Naval Academy only to find; on this day there was a line to get in that would've taken us 2 hours to get through. We went to Pussers World Famous bar on ego alley for an early beer.
Getting past Back Creek and the entrance to Spa Creek was pretty sloppy on a Labor day weekend so we thought we'd take advantage of the smoother waters behind the bridge and check out some of the homes along the water's edge.

Nice diggs!

Mine

It was a fun day and I think Neil found it all interesting.  Then, he headed back to base at Pax River. He's a nice fellow and we enjoy his company.

We've mellowed into a nice existence here in Annapolis. We did get the boat waxed and had a diver do the bottom. She needed it badly.

The weather, other than a couple of hot days, has been excellent and it's forecast to get better. It's getting to be that time of year in this part of the world.
Funny, though, kinda like Pickwick Lake in Tennessee... after Labor Day, folks almost quit boating.... just when the weather is becoming really nice. Football, maybe?
Oh well... good for us.

Downside to all this, Radar's and my allergies are going insane.
We think that'll be better when we're back in S. Fla with Palm trees and beaches.

Cheers,

A couple more of the many fine boats around Spa Creek.
This old Chris Craft is all wooden and has been restored to perfection.

Today's Pic: We Got Crabs!

Finally!

There's a real shortage of Blue Crabs this year and almost no one is selling them.
Three years ago, when we last visited the Chesapeake, big crabs were abundant and we could buy a dozen steamed for $25.00.

Locally famous Crab House, Cantler's, has Crab. They're $95 per doz, large... $75 for medium.

We called our buddy, Josh, and the three of us drove to the other side of the Severn River and found Cantler's.

That's another story in itself.

Expensive as they were, they tasted even better. A few beers, a mess of crabs, and a lot of fun.
After digging through a dozen of these critters, you need a shower.
Cantler's does offer an outdoor wash-down sink with soap and towels for cleanup.
We used it.

Good stuff... Really good stuff and a good time.
Eating a dozen crabs is an adventure.

Cheers,
