Sadly, those responsibilities we spoke of earlier have come to a head. Mother back in hospital and business decisions to be made and acted on. But we have enjoyed our relaxing/brief stay on Istaboa. Hopefully we can get things back in order and fly back to take Istaboa over to the islands for a while. It's sad to see her tied up at the dock for so long.
So until later,

Very interesting blog
Crew of Emily Grace in the Galapagos
- Tom, Kim and Emily
- Mystic, CT, United States
- Tom lives aboard his Nordhavn 46 with his Admiral Kim and daughter Emily. They sold their CT home and began their 5-year cruising adventure in July 2008.
- We've been keeping up with this crew for a while now. What an adventure they must be having. What an education for Emily as they take their Nordhavn around the world... Alone.

Decompression
Life has been almost blissful since returning to Stuart and Istaboa. We forgot how nice it is to live this way, sleeping a bit late in the mornings, and no schedule to keep. The only decision we have had to make so far is what's for dinner.
But we feel the responsibilities building up back home. for now... we are just going to ignore them for a while.
Capt. Will brought over some competition quality BBQ ribs yesterday that were outstanding. So we had lunch, then made Mimosas, jumped into the Albury, and ran around the St Lucie river area. Had a great day.

We're Back!!
For a few days anyway.
We think we have my mother stabilized, so we jumped on the plane and made it into Ft Lauderdale.
We're feelin the stress easing by the minute.
Istaboa looks good. Capt. Will has been looking after her and taking very good care. He met us at the airport and gave us a ride to Stuart. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the Christmas presents onboard waiting for us. (We were supposed to be back right after Christmas)
Took Radar over to the Pelican for dinner first thing. It seems to have changed a bit. Victoria has decided to sell her part of the restaurant. Not the same crew anymore but we will give them a chance anyway.
We've slowly been running into our old friends, so it's been nice. While drinking coffee this morning, I saw our friends on the Krogen Broulee pass under the bridge. They are heading west on the river to take Broulee out of the water for Hurricane Season. We talked on the radio, both saying sorry to have missed each other.
So that's it... Not anything exciting, just nice and calm. ahhhh......
But here's something interesting for you boater folks. The Floating Neutrinos. Rather than tell you the story I will link here. The Floating Neutrinos
And a video (warning, it's 45 minutes long, so pick your time... it's worth it.)
It's really good to be back.

Ya gotta have friends
NAIROBI (AFP) - A baby hippopotamus that survived the tsunami waves on the Kenyan coast has formed a strong bond with a giant male century-old tortoise, in an animal facility in the port city of Mombassa.
“It is incredible. A-less-than-a-year-old hippo has adopted a male tortoise, about a century old, and the tortoise seems to be very happy with being a ‘mother’,” ecologist Paula Kahumbu, who is in charge of Lafarge Park.
“After it was swept and lost its mother, the hippo was traumatized. It had to look for something to be a surrogate mother. Fortunately, it landed on the tortoise and established a strong bond. They swim, eat and sleep together,” the ecologist added. “The hippo follows the tortoise exactly the way it follows its mother. If somebody approaches the tortoise, the hippo becomes aggressive, as if protecting its biological mother,” Kahumbu added.
This is a real story that shows that our differences don’t matter much when we need the comfort of another. We could all learn a lesson from these two creatures. Look beyond the differences and find a way to walk the path together.
