Back Track

To St. Augustine:

Mel preparing to tie up as we approach The Bridge of Lions

Normally, we don't do the tourist marinas...  but timing, tides, and water depths dictated we stay at St. Augustine's City Docks.

We'd heard the old Spanish sailing ship, 'El Galeon', was moored here. Article here.

At night, she lights up pretty in front of the old bridge.

It's a beautiful ship and she was crawling with folks, both young and old, who were delighted to see such a vessel.
It is a replica, but she's a really good one.

We planned to stay for a couple of days to take care of a few things, but circumstances forced us rise early the next day and run to Jacksonville Beach.

If you look close you can see the sliver of a moon between the masts. Took this shot at sunrise as we were leaving. (That's another story)

Googled 'El Galeon' and found this video... nicely done... skip the commercial

In just the short distance we've traveled, we've already seen some beautiful sights and we've taken many photos, but been busy. We'll post more soon.

I forgot how fun this cruising life can be.
Today we're in Savannah.

Thanks for checking in on us.

Cheers,

Istaboa
